Spanking in GWTW? Is that why she was named "Scarlett?"

All will soon be revealed....

Pity Poor Me. Que the violins. I'm buried under 6 feet of snow up here in LaForge and I feel like crap, so 'scuse me if I complain about stuff. You can't grouse around here without somebody jumping on your case.

I only made comment because I had just gone through pretty much the same thing myself (ask Pink or Katie B). And maybe I'm not even completely through it yet, so the advice was directed as much at myself as you.

Well, of course "Scarlett" was the protagonist's middle name, which she generally went by, her first name being "Katie."

While on occasion Rhett Butler did refer to Scarlett being spanked or thrashed with a buggy whip, and he once talked about kicking ber bottom all the way to Melanie's house in Atlanta if necessary, he never did carry out any of those threats.

It was stated that Mrs. Tarleton, mother of the twins (Brent and Stuart) whom Scarlett was flirting with at the novel's beginning, was known for using her riding crop more on her four young-adult sons than on her prized horses.

IIRC "National Lampoon" magazine once did a brief parody of GONE WITH THE WIND, called "Scarlett O'Bottom," which featured Scarlett being spanked by one of the Tara field hands, Big Sam... --C.K.

I don't normally use the 'latest' list but having had a quick look it seems that stories on there take a few days to make it into the results when using the search function, e.g Louise Watson's latest story. Not a complaint, just an observation

Items should appear via the search function from the moment they are loaded unless you click the "validated" checkbox on the search form. If that's not the case something is broken.

Thanks, I think the problem was caused by me searching on F/F criteria. A small number of stories in the Latest list don't have anything listed in the content field, if I search with everything left blank they do show up in the results.

Thanks njrick. You should start a new service on the forum called

Dear njrick

How do you know that one day you might be as famous as Ann Landers.
