Puffin users please read

For now on iPad, try Virtual Chrome. This is £2.99 via the app store. It works reasonably well, stories open and scroll as normal. Otherwise Photon with the lightning symbol selected also displays stories but without two finger scrolling. Thanks to Februs for the advice.

Thanks for the tip on Virtual Chrome, Bohemond. I have just loaded it onto my ipad and it does indeed allow me to open the stories and scroll down. It is, however, very jerky and not nearly as good as Puffin use to be. But it is definitely better than nothing.

Photon doesn't work for me though...when i select the stories it comes up with the same message as puffin does. So no joy there.

Puffin uses our servers in USA to improve the user experience. The side effect is that the websites receive Puffin's servers IP rather than yours. Although Puffin passes your IP to websites via X-Forwarded-For, some websites don't support this standard.

This is the route I have been going down for the last few days but for some reason the x-forwarded-for header isn't being revealed when I try and grab it. The possible reasons for this are a bit complicated and this is what I'm trying to get clarification on at the moment.

OK well I have a bit of an update and it's not great news. I've been in discussions with our host provider and they don't pass on the x-forwarded-for header. I've also sent an email to the Puffin developer but no reply so far. We are starting to run out of options - I can look at ways of providing a modified version of the LSF viewer for iPad users that gets round the Apple scrolling bug but it's not going to happen overnight and in addition I don't own an iPad so that will slow things down too in terms of testing.

It would be LOVELY to have an iPAD version of LSF! Meanwhile, in response to Minidancer, Photon should work provided the Lightning button is selected after opening the app which in turn opens a streaming session after a few seconds.
