I'm a Firefox user myself. I've never had any problems. No problem with any of the LSF features so far either. That's our Februs for ya.

The short version of the story is that because Apple are a pain in the arse and unreasonably restrict what developers can do companies like those that produce the Puffin browser have to render the websites you view on their own servers and then send the result to your browser. This is called proxy browsing and means that your own ip address is hidden which to the LSF and several other sites I could mention makes you appear like a possible spammer etc.

Not being a user of any Apple products I can't at the moment advise on an alternative browser and this kind of thing certainly doesn't help:

I'll continue to investigate what if anything can be done but in the meantime someone might like to ask the shiny toy company when it's going to fix the "scrolling within iframe bug" which they introduced several versions of iOS ago.

I now get the story in the popup windows in Google Chrome on an iPad but I can't scroll, even if I use the buttons as recommended in a previous message.

That's due to a bug in Apple's operating system. Anyway, thanks for trying. For now it seems iPad users won't be able to use the story viewer. If we manage to find a way round it I'll update the thread.

I have raised a complaint with Puffin about them masking IP addresses and asked them to remove it, but I won't hold my breath.

Having suffered the same problem with Puffin reported above, I've had to revert to Photon on my iPad. This does render stories and allow scrolling but is terribly jerky compared with the smooth performance of Puffin.

Forget my posting just now. Photon is getting rejected now.

I can set the story viewer software to accept Photon but will need to be able to detect it so need yourself or someone who has Photon installed to send me a popiup when they are next online and have 5 mins to spare.

The real problem lies with Apple rather than Puffin although Puffin could help by passing on the users real ip address as well as their own which would be easy to do and relatively easy for us to detect.
