Njrick's "Six of the Best" Challenge - Round 6: Participating Authors' Bonus Round

Sorry folks - participation in this round is by invitation only. The invitation is extended to authors who have participated in no less than three of the previous rounds of this series. And in this case, the "challenge" isn't much of a challenge, but rather an opportunity. In previous rounds, the 6 stories a participant could suggest had to be by 6 different authors. For this round, and this round only, that restriction is lifted. Therefore an (invited) author/participant may offer 6 of his/her own stories (or poems, essays, songs etc), a major self-plugging opportunity! Neither is there any restriction on theme.

As with other rounds, participants are asked to provide some basic info on entries - author, length, orientation and brief synopsis. Although it is not a requirement, participants are encouraged to select stories that showcase the full range of the author's body of work, exhibiting different orientations, themes, types, etc.

Unlike in other rounds, each (invited) participant/author may participate only once.

So that non-author participants in the other challenges are not excluded, any non-author participant in at least 3 of the other challenges is also invited to participate in this bonus round by offering 6 reading suggestions penned by any one author of his/her own choosing.

Anyone who has not yet participated in 3 of the other challenges can still become eligible for (and invited to participate in this challenge) by submitting entries in the requisite number of other challenges. This would include participation in any future challenges in this series, so long as the total is 3 or more.

For reference, the 5 previous challenges were:
- Round 1 - initial challenge with no theme limitation
- Round 2 - challenge with the theme of "Humor" (in the same thread as the original challenge)
- Round 3 - challenge with the theme of "Christmas"
- Round 4 - challenge with the theme of "Sci-Fi or Fantasy"
- Round 5 - "More Than Just Stories" with no theme, but the requirement that at least one of the three entries be a poem, one a song, and one another type of work (play, essay, snippet, other)

I better go home and count then ....

Damn, Rick, you're a hard taskmaster. Your 3-goes qualification is a clever ruse, and I bet you're sitting on a list of the few qualifiers, just waiting to pounce!

I'll be interested to see (and read) what others most wish to promote from among their creations, and I'll have to be a better participant if I want to self-plug - which, given the desperate times, is no longer the last resort of the scoundrel.

Not certain if I qualify either. I know I did "Sci-Fi" and "More Than Just Stories," and I think I did "Christmas" but can't swear to it.

You're good to go. You participated in Round 1 (no theme).

I think I participated three times in "Sci-Fi and Fantasy"...

As well as one each of the first three rounds.

Does that mean I can participate twice this time?

Okay, I've gone through my stories. I can't say these are necessarily the 6 best but at least they're among the most popular ones (in terms of favorites and comments):

1) Library Fines Can Be Painful - the 1st story I ever submitted to this site; a girl has late library books and her mother comes up with a creative way for her to pay her the money back.

2) Bad Grades Equal a Sore Butt - not sure why, but this story resonated with a lot of people because it's the one I've got with the most favorites (21).

3) A Mutually Satisfactory Arrangement - this is one I was really happy with and people seem to like (16 favorites) despite it being > 10k words. A college freshman moves in with a professor and her high school senior daughter.

4) Spanked With My Best Friend - another of my earliest stories; a high school student has her best friend spend the night and is then mortified when her mother spanks them both with her hairbrush.

5) You're Here For a Spanking Aren't You? - I chose this one because it was the first story I wrote that morphed into a connected series of stories. There were 10 in total, ending with Helen Finally Spanks the Girls. An older neighbor helps out a widow by spanking her daughters, but winds up spanking and sexually involved with the mother as well. About half the stories are him spanking the girls and the other half are him and Helen cavorting, so it was more of a challenge to write.

6) Playing Spank-the-Bottle - this is a bit of a throw-away; since I couldn't decide which final story to list I went with the off-beat. Teen girl goes to a party where they take spin-the-bottle to a new level.

Nice try... but no. One per customer. Your excellent participation rate in the early rounds earns you a well deserved pat on the back (or slap on the bottom if that's your preference).

I think I am qualified through participation in rounds 1, 2, and 5, but choosing stories is almost like choosing between one's children! Anyway, here is my pick - I have gone for variety, and when I had to choose between stories in the same category, I have usually gone for the one that has received the least attention:

1. Not exactly something to be proud of, M/f and F/m, 3683 words, belt and hairbrush: A coming of age story with a lot of nostalgia; it is basically about the place where I grew up - and about realizing that one is in love with the girl across the road.

2. A Night in November, M/F, 1969 words, hand. The protagonist is irritated with his girlfriend after an evening out with his colleagues, and for good reason. A battle of wills ensues, and she chooses a gambit he cannot refuse.

3. A Guided Tour of the Island, M/F, 2920 words, hairbrush. She makes them miss the bus after the first stop on the tour, and they have to walk back to the hotel through the pouring rain. She thinks they should sue the bus companty, he has another suggestion.

4. The General, M/F, 2448 words, switch. In a time of war, a soldier takes a young enemy woman under his wings, but she is as stubborn as she is beautiful - and a mystery to the end!

5. Me and Aunt Mary, F/f, 3354, hand, hairbrush. I suppose we need a traditional teenage spanking story on the list, and I settled for this one because I like the characters so much.

6. Coming of Age, M/f, 7699 words, birch. Another nostalgic story of young love, this time about a young boy's infatuation with his much older cousin. But she only has eyes for the boys her own age, and particularly those with a dubious reputation.

Okay, I believe that I participated in four of the five previous listing Challenges, so I'm qualified to participate in this one.

Since the 'Greek' (fraternity and/or sorority) category was never included, I've decided to employ it in my list here. Self-plugging is apparently encouraged in this Challenge, so I have included one of my own stories.

My selections, predictably all sorority-based:

"Sorority" by Flatfish [Fs/Fs, medium length]

One of the Omicron Mu Gamma ("OMG") sorority's wealthy former members plays a clever deathbed trick on her one-time house's current membership, with results which are devastating to those sisters' tender derrieres. There's a clever 'twist' ending to this account of from-beyond-the-grave practical joking.

"Ya Know? Sorority Spanking" by otkgirl [F/F, fairly short]

Lesbian romance between two sorority sisters is at the center of this rather serious story of hurt feelings about impending separation, how they negatively affect one partner's behavior, then how her misconduct is dealt with by her disciplinary lover.

"Phi Gamma Delta" Part One by Seegee [Fs/Fs, very long]

This first part of the serial introduces four pledges, matches each of them up with her 'big sister' and of course gets each one spanked on numerous occasions (some more than others). However, in this highly paddling-oriented sorority, no sister's bare bottom escapes a good solid dose of the paddle for very long.

"...Perfect!" by Sir Cambornek [Fs/Fs, fairly short]

In this sequel to "Practice," which ideally should be read first, a dozen tricked sorority pledges employ trickery of their own to retaliate against the older sisters who had manipulated them. Naturally, this retribution is carried out via a sturdy paddle atop the bare behinds of their two highly regretful manipulators.

"The Delta Tau Solution" by KD Pierre [Ffs/F, long]

This account centers on a recently-graduated former sorority member who shares an aspect of Delta Tau's paddling policy as relates to cheating in a contest, only to have it literally 'smack her on the butt' when her teenage sister and some sleepover-guest girlfriends catch the young woman herself engaging in an unusual form of cheating. This intensive nude chastisement ends up being extremely extended, and leads to a later long-term disciplinary arrangement.

"Sorority House Spanking" by Crimson Kid [F/F, Fs/M, fairly short]

This narrative is an attempt by myself to replicate the type of spanking letter which appeared in "MR." magazine during the 1970s and early '80s, many of which were probably written by the magazine's staff. A dating pledge faces discipline for returning to her sorority house after curfew--since it's due to her male escort's arrogance, he decides to play 'Tom Sawyer' for her and receives much more severe corporal correction than he anticipated.

Sorority spankings of the bare-bottom kind have always greatly appealed to me...
