A Poll: Were you spanked as a child?

I was spanked once (over the knee, bare bottom, age 5 or 6) although I think it was a strictly against my parents' principles, and only happened because I drove my father so mad that he resorted to methods he himself had some practical experience with. My parents' had the Norwegian translation of Dr. Spock's "The Common Sense Book of Baby and Child Care" on their shelves, and when I years later searched it for interesting information on corporal punishment, it turned out to be major disappointment — but also a good explanation for why I was never spanked again.

I have been intrigued by spanking since childhood. The first episode I can date with any precision (playing spanking games with a neighbor boy who only lived there for a couple of years) is from age 7 or 8, but I am quite sure I had spanking fantasies long before that. They might, of course, have been triggered by my one and only spanking, but it doesn't really feel that way.

Number one: very rarely, in fact I only have a conscious memory of two or three times.

Number two: My first time was around five and the last about eight or nine. The first by my mom and the last two by my dad (on my clothed backside. mom spanked me bare bottom and OTK).

Spankings varied from a proper knickers down over the knee, or could be skirt up/ trousers down and about 10 to 15 smacks to my knickers while stood up, his was usually if other people were present or we were out shopping or something....much more dreaded and hated then the OTK at home!

Never, as far as I can remember. I got one stroke of the cane on each palm at the age of 13 or 14 from the Headmaster for something I hadn't done and believe me, it wasn't sexy.

I was spanked fairly regularly at home between the ages of 5 and 10. Hand spanking (bare bottom) though not across the knee, followed by the butter pat when I was older. As you will see from my article in Wellred this was not a pleasant experience. My description of my schooldays also recounts the canings I had at school. These ceased for me when I was - I think - 14, although numerous of my fellow pupils were not so lucky.

This was the forties and fifties, and there was nothing particularly unusual about my treatment. It was the norm for those days.

My spanko feelings have been with me since puberty. Coincidence?

I forgot to include that I didn't become "interested" in spanking until ten or so. Not only did I fantasize about getting spanked, I tried to give a few. Finally a girl I knew let me spank her on her bare bottom very briefly. It was quite memorable for me at least but I wound up wanting more to be spanked (by adults) than to give spankings...

It's 1. for me. Spanking was just not an approach my parents employed in terms of discipline. I grew up in the '50s and '60s, so others my age had a different experience at home when rules were broken. I wasn't spanked at school either -- though occasionally a fellow student was -- but I do recall very clearly twice being threatened with spankings, once in first grade by the principal, and once in seventh grade in front of the class by a gym teacher. The principal meant it -- I have no doubt to this day, and I was very scared. The gym teacher claimed, one minute later, that it was a joke. I didn't find it funny. I'd not done anything and still think back on that as the action of a bully.
Despite my no-spank status as a kid, I was a spanko even then., fascinated by it. By age 14, it took on an element beyond curiosity, as I began writing fictional accounts of spanking members of the opposite sex.

#1 at least not that I remember. My older sister said I was spanked when I was around 2 for drawing on the wall, but I don't remember it at all. She said that my mother really lost it and spanked me until I lost my breath and my sister ran to get my Dad and he stopped it and got me breathing again. Neither parent or my brother or sister ever spanked me again. I can't say I didn't deserve it, they just didn't. I wasn't spanked at school either. I did have a boyfriend when I was about 16 who liked to play spank, but it wasn't more of slap and tickle.

I can remember seeing a Saturday Evening Post Magazine cover with a little boy being spanked by his mother. I was fascinated by that cover. I think I was about 5 years old. I guess that was the birth of a spanko, even though I didn't realize it or do anything about it until just a year ago. Thank goodness for the internet.
