Some of us are discovering talents we didn't know we had!!

And those might be what again?

After reading that little verse of yours, neither did I. (not that I can claim that talent for myself either)

There was a poor fellow called Blimp
Whose talent for rhyming was limp.
His attempts to write verse
Started bad, then got worse,
And were scoffed at by Rick, the rude imp!

Oh thanks for nothing PhilK! I thought it was pretty good for a first attempt! Perhaps when it comes to the contest I might attract the sympathy vote!

It was your first attempt? Well then, I take everything back. The result, for a first attempt, wasn't awful after all, it was just perfectly mediocre.

Thanks to flopsy, pink angel and Linda
This poetry stuff is perplexing
I'd bend them all over right now
for the switch that my hands are 'a flexing
I do very poorly--it's doggerel
but at least I do know how to flog 'em well

some people cry and others whine
about 100 word limit not needing to rhyme
many are authors who should give thanks
rather then list others they want to spank

my Canadian friend I'm not pullin' rank
of course there's gals around here
that I'd gladly spank,
maybe I'll try all this versin' and rhymin'
soon as my spankin' arm improves on its timin'

A 100 Word Poem:

A storm in a teacup this challenge has raised,
With such wonderful talent on hand too.
Why all the fuss about poetry phrased?
When about nothing there is much ado.

Authors are many, far more than twenty,
Whose stories are a pleasure to behold?
With magic words they write tales a plenty,
I'm certain their poems can be foretold.

A 100 word poem won't take too much time,
For class writers like Rollin, Rick, and Blimp.
For in this composition words not need end in rhyme,
With such talent I'm certain there's no need to skimp.
