Mainstream Startle

Another startle. There's a new movie coming to Netflix in October called The Killer, starring Michael fassbender. In the trailer, a woman is seen from behind through a balcony window. She appears to be wearing leather pants and high leather boots, brandishing a flogger. A man sits on the couch in a robe, sipping a cocktail. Might be worth a watch??

Scorsese’s latest, Killers of the Flower Moon, features a rather severe punishment paddling of Leo DiCaprio by Robert DeNiro. It’s ritualistic, taking place in a Masonic temple. Totally unexpected; great (though long) film!

Watched The Killer on Netflix last night. Sadly disappointed, I'm afraid. The scene sets up as expected, an attractive woman dressed in dominatrix types leather. She pulls out her implement, which causes her partner to look on in surprise and intrigue. Then...she is mistakenly killed by Fassbender's hitman character. Stark, graphic, and that's it.

Hoping some of the other leads prove more apropos for the board.

When it comes to relying on Hollywood, the media, TV, whatever to provide satisfying glimpses into this lifestyle you might as well just give up. Whatever time is spent hopefully searching for startles and scenes would be much better spent just getting out there and doing it yourself.

Ego Nwodim played the moderator of a hip-hop panel where Punkie Johnson played Mary J. Bilge, James Austin Johnson played Rick Rubin, Kenan Thompson played Cornel West and Chalamet reprised his previous SNL character, $mokecheddathaassgetta (sadly without his old wingman, who'd been depicted by former cast member, Pete Davidson). Like the last time, Chedda was a know-nothing, untalented white rapper who irritated everyone else, which was marginally amusing.

Wheel of Time update. No spankings shown, but they are present in the series.
First Elayne is sentence to a visit in Sheriam's study. This usually means a switching, caning, strapping or slippering in the study according to the books, applied to the bare bottom. I was alarmed that they'd softened it when Sheriam said something like "you'll feel my switch across your shoulder."

Shoulders??? I know some people don't mind a back punishment but I would have been disappointed if they took the punishments above the waist.

No need to worry. In a scene in season two, we see the Mistress of Novice's study and a Novice is actually DUSTING the implements. Verin(I think) comes along and talks about her own punishments from years ago. She grabs her bottom and talks about how she can still feel the spankings because she got so many(I'm paraphrasing.)

So while no spanking has been shown, this is a show to keep an eye on.

I wonder how the show will handle The Knife of Dreams, which could have been called 50 Shades of Wheel of Time or Egwene Gets Spanked.

For those of a more F/M preference, I would recommend looking at the old "Haven" series, season 4, ep. 7 "Lay Me Down". Made me think someone from LSF might be moonlighting. It's on YouTube...

Well, it's pretty impressive in that it involves a strict, attractive schoolmistress, a butt-naked male 'student' and a solid, Spencer-style paddle.

However, only one swat is landed before the guy wakes up suddenly from that dream, and it's obvious all along (unlike a full season of "Dallas" and the entire run of "Newhart") that it's just a dream, albeit a strangely erotic one.

BTW, I've read the Stephen King novel The Colorado Kid, which "Haven" was quite loosely based upon, and in King's written comments he seems to have a rather ambivalent attitude toward the television adaptation.

Still, I'm crediting the program with a certain amount of courage in reflecting an actual F/M schoolboy spanking fantasy... --C.K.

I enjoyed that show even without the schoolboy scene. I thought that dream fit Nathan pretty well...
