Wow, what a thread! I agree with those who said that all politics (and people involved in politics) should be excluded. I could think of tons of US politicians and some UK ones, too, and even an Australian or two. That includes Miss Thunberg, because those who want her spanked focus mostly on her politics.
The earlier nomination on this thread of Lori Loughlin is perfect, because she was indeed convicted for her scheme. Judith Anderson as Mrs Danvers in "Rebecca" is truly more of a candidate to be a spanker, but it would be good to see the tables turned on her for her cruelty. Serena Williams does behave badly on the court, but then you have to include John McEnroe and quite a few other players. Lately, Nowak Djokovic seems to deserve a good whacking for his misbehavior. I'd also like to see Anne Robinson, who conducts "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" in the US, spanked because she is so nasty to the players.
I generally don't mind when newspeople on TV get aggressive, but in the US, Christine Welker on NBC is egregious in her questions and her reports, as is Susannah Guthrie, who also is always looking to embarrass anyone she questions--these two are really offensive since they work for ostensibly neutral networks, unlike those on Fox and MSNBC, who represent each side in our political divide, as with the press secys in the current and previous administrations. Interesting, because there are two other newspeople on TV in the US who are professional and never nasty: Robin Roberts on ABC and Norah O'Donnell on CBS. |
