Stumbled over something - spanking for God.

I recently stumbled over this 50 page pamphlet:

It's a Christen guide to Head of House domestic discipline. It's, well, it is what it is. On the positive side, it has good advise for spanking.

This sparks off all sorts of thoughts, just one of which is "spanking for my country", which could be all sorts of things including a competition. Or there might be a story-joke:

Bill died and arrived at the pearly gates. St Peter said, "To enter Heaven, Bill, you must spank this young lady really hard." No idea how it would end.

I've come across sites like these over the years and always get a giggle. Most of them are Christian sites and members are part of a community that subscribe, even promote these policies. I'm sure they would make great real life spanking series, if one wanted to live that kind of life. It is not for me!

Actually, there's nothing at all about religion in that particular document. It's just a tutorial about starting a domestic discipline relationship.

I've read that one before. I have to say I find it as, um, entertaining, as many stories in the library. There's something about serious and sober discussion about punishing your spouse, or accepting punishment from your spouse, that gets to me.

I don't know how plausible it is as a template for a real-life relationship. Especially the emphasis on minimizing sexual arousal during spanking. But that's just my experience, since clearly there are folks who practice spanking purely as discipline.

What can I say? It presses my buttons.

I read a lot of that Christian stuff when I was new to the online spanking community. It got me down. I felt vulnerable to it, being that I'm religious.

I find all this Head of the Household, Christian, Domestic Discipline a wee bit creepy and as about erotic as my week old socks.

I don't know how erotic your socks are, blimp, (that's a different fetish altogether), but what I find creepy about this is that there's absolutely no mention of any method by which the submissive partner is allowed to disagree with the HoH's interpretation of the rules - and the definition of basic rights (such as the right to spend one's own money, visit one's own friends etc) as 'privileges' to be granted or withheld at the HoH's discretion.

I can't see a relationship in which one partner makes all the decisions, while the other has little or no power or input as really healthy. I might enjoy it as roleplay, but not in real life. As for deliberately avoiding sexual arousal...why?

I'm with incisron. I find quite strange the idea that there's something particularly Christian about spanking purely for punishment or about women being subordinate to men in all respects except kitchen and baby-making. For me, spanking is nothing to do with those ideas.
