I didn't have an entry in this one. I couldn't think of a good story line in time. So very well done to all who entered. I really enjoyed the stories. And, thank you flopsy, this was the best challenge yet and it was made all the better by the spankee age restriction.

Bizarrely, I did exactly the same as The English Master - I thought Saturninus's three stories the outstanding entries and I gave them the highest marks, although of course we had no idea who the author was or, in my case at least, that the author of all three was the same writer. So the motto is, if you didn't get a story in the top three, or even the top six, don't be discouraged because chances are your writing style is to someone's tastes, and I for one still have no real idea what "pushes the button" to help win one of these competitions, although I suspect an F/M story will only win when that is the exclusive category!

I must admit I was a little disappointed by the age restriction since I thought that the subject matter lent itself very easily to school stories and I had to "tweak" mine to fit in a way I don't generally like doing, but I'll make an exception for a challenge!

I didn't participate in this challenge, either as an author or a judge, because I thought I didn't like mistaken identity stories. I equated the theme with "someone who doesn't deserve it getting the spanking instead of the person who did deserve it". However, having read a few of the entries after the fact, I see that there were some much more creative interpretations of the theme. Congrats, authors!

Sirs,

I opened the forum page this morning to find it covered in eulogies for this chap Saturninus, saying what a jolly good fellow he must be, an all round good egg, the next leader of the Conservative party, the next Commissar of the Labour party and so on. Quite frankly, I am appalled!

I think that I am safe in saying that I have known Saturninus a lot longer than anyone else here. It seems like all my life, if not longer and I can tell you that he is nothing less than a cad and a bounder: a plagiarist without an original thought in his head.

The Happiest Man in the World was lifted from Plum Wodehouse while Mudflaps and Miseries is just a retelling of Somerset Maugham's Kashmir Ruby, set on a cruise ship instead of a curry house in Rusholme. As for Alternative Therapy, that was nicked from some Russian bloke in Novosibirsk!.

So instead of lauding him and giving him 39 out of 30 in your contest I think that Flopsy should organise a committee of the Library's finest ladies to bend him over like any schoolboy of yore and give his bare behind a fearful beating!

Volunteers, please form a queue.

I remain, ladies and gentlemen
Your most faithful servant

I agree with several others about Saturnious - I thought "Happiest Man in the World" was the best story here. Congrats to him as well as the winners.

I'm unclear here. Is the queue to be for volunteer spankers or spankees? Could Flopsy possibly arrange to have both?

Guy

Not only is that greedy and demanding too much, Guy, but also a bloody good idea. Put me down for two tickets.

I really didn't like the topic as well but I still decided to read and judge and I was quite surprised. Excellent on most of the stories.
