Doctor Who. A jolly good smacked bottom

Now with the 60th anniversary year of Doctor Who the BBC is running a number of programmes celebrating its long term success. And nearly all the episodes have been put up on the I Player.
But of course it has evolved in many ways since the series was first launched in 1963 as an early evening show aimed to appeal across the whole family and with characters with whom everyone could identify.
The key relationship has always been between the Doctor and his "companion". This was generally a midteens girl in the early series. Always getting into scrapes and trouble. Gradually this has changed. The Doctor is no longer an elderly or parental figure while the companion is herself now adult.The interest now is not whether he spanks her but rather are they having sex.
Unsurprisingly the program has lost much of its previous broad based family audience.
For those not old enough to remember the original, classic, period, I have tried to capture some of the flavour in my story, written some time ago, but perhaps still of interest.

I await this story with anticipation and delight. Almost all of the Doctor's young ladies have deserved a 'Jolly good smacked bottom' and at least this once are likely to get their just desserts

I was watching some episodes of Doctor Who just last week and smirked at the 2017 episode when the first doctor turns up and tells the companion, Bill, she needs a jolly good smacked bottom. Possibly the scriptwriter felt inspired by rnr.

It was of course the teenage Susan who was threatened with a spanking although her successor Vicki appeared equally vulnerable. Of course at that time a fairly normal response to misbehaviour and passed in the script without question.

There is a website called Vanilla Spanking. Among other interesting things it delves in depth into the spanking possibilities of most of the Dr Who female companions, Barbara being the most recent.
It also is slowly chronicling the spanking scenes in every production of Kiss Me Kate.

Clara Oswald every time, that girl is crying out for the application of a whippy rattan cane.

You wouldn't want to try it with Leela though as the level of retaliatory violence might be too much,.

There's an episode in the First Doctor's run where in the same episode the Doctor threatened his granddaughter with a smacked bottom and later insists that she marry someone she just met.

I believe the BBC have created a feature length episode from a compilation of newly colourised scenes from the classic Doctor Who of the1960s. This will also be available on I-Player and presumably Britbox.
It will give an opportunity to see the original show which then went on to become a cult over the subsequent 60 years.
The storyline was built around the interplay between an eccentric grandfather, two parent figures (kidnapped from school) and a feisty mid teen. Action always featured alien threats, notably the Daleks, but cycled around scenes based either on well known history ( French Revolution, Pyramids etc) or aliens threatening our contemporary world, or else set in a Sci Fi future.
Faced with Alien terror one would often see Barbara with a protective arm around Susan but it was never a big leap of imagination to see that arm delivering a necessary sharp slap to the back of Susan's knickers when her teenage high spirits crossed the line.
This was equally credible with several of the companions from the early years but gradually the Doctors became younger while the companions were fully adult and the dynamics changed.
