Looking for suggestions for a title.

Following on the recent post asking for writing prompts/ideas, I have a request from my side.

My latest story, An Undeserved Punishment (plug) follows the previous one with a similar title, An Overdue Punishment. I’m looking to write a third story also with a similar title. This will not be a trilogy in the true sense as the stories are unrelated but rather a series. So, any suggestions of an adjective to slot between ‘a/an’ and ‘punishment’ should give me ideas for a third story and maybe more. Who knows if there are enough stories, the series may even be considered by LSF Publications as a collection worthy of publication but let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

'Deserved'? 'Surprising'? 'Harsh'? It seems to me you could insert just about any adjective and it would conjure up a different story, which makes like a traditional Challenge except we only need to write one word! Have you considered using a thesaurus to see where it leads you? However probably the best adjectives are ones that even a thesaurus would not suggest, so it will be interesting to see what folks come up with.

Since you’ve used u and o, do you want to stick with vowels and have an archaic punishment, an illegal punishment and an essential punishment, or some such along those lines?

Anticipated, appropriate, inappropriate (that sounds interesting), interesting, unbelievable, unexpected, expected, awful (?),

The choices are almost endless. (Endless? There's another one.)

How about one where the punishment was undeserved, calling it A Regretted Punishment?

Many thanks for all the suggestions. It's surprising how these one-word prompts can stimulate so many ideas! I'll have to work my way though the list and get my jumbled thoughts in order. Watch this space.
