Ex pupils and mothers seeing the Headmaster for the cane

It might be an interesting way to allocate places in an oversubscribed institution,

When I was a school governor about 25 years ago the state schools could theoretically set their own heirarchy of criteria for allocating places (e.g. living in the catchment area, special educational requirement to go to that particular school or maybe there's a sibling already in the school) In practice, however the state schools pretty much had to abide by the order of criteria as laid down by the local education authority or have a very good reason why they thought they could deviate.

Were this not the case then ability to take a sound swishing could make the list,
and a competition like an entrance exam might be held.

Would a mother asking the headmistress for three strokes fit the bill? A demonstration of how her daughter is to be punished. My story, A Mother's Concerns.

I have a story - 'An Informed Decision' - in which the mothers of teenage girls are required to take a paddling in order to be allowed to vote on whether the school should be allowed to use the paddle on their daughters. It's not caning, but I think you might enjoy it.

Not a story per se. but my sister and my father both had the same teacher. He was a head teacher for my sister and had moved to a different school about two miles from the school my father went to.

I know both received corporal punishment in school but i don't know if it was from this particular teacher.

I agree - maybe we have a single mother that does not look after her daughter properly - she is always out on the town with her friends and leaving her sixth-form daughter at home alone. The daughter herself falls into bad habits influenced by her mother and becomes a bit of a rebel at school and ends up in trouble with the Headmaster eventually getting a caning across her bare bottom. The Headmaster informs the mother of her daughters behaviour and her punishment - the mother realises that she is partly to blame for letting her daughter go astray and decides that she is the one that should have been punished. She asks for a meeting with the Headmaster where she requests a caning for herself after telling him she is largely to blame. She tells him she wants double what her daughter got. It is winter and she is wearing a big coat and when she takes it off she reveals that she is wearing her old school uniform. After removing her skirt and pants she gets the thrashing of a lifetime.
