What makes you comment?

Am I really? I always feel a bit guilty for not commenting on more of your stories as the ones I read are really excellent.

3.7 to 1, commenting deity, I think that most of the time I comment, it is because I connected with the character or multiple in the story. Lots of spectacular authors in this site, with a varied group of stories. I appreciate all the work and creativity that goes into the crafting of the stories here. Thanks

Interesting thread.I like to let authors know I enjoyed their efforts. On the other side I usually also only comment on what stories appeal to my tastes and don't comment on those that don't. Like it has been mentioned we each have favorite storylines,characters,descriptions or that one something that makes it stand out,but while some may not be my taste I do not comment negatively on anything.I do want all authors to know I appreciate their efforts. Although there is one other point that I feel I must make I often read stories again and again and my first comments that I made do not convey how much I enjoy the story and that can be frustrating to a commenter. It's great that you comment, Jim, and I know it has been possible in the past to comment a SECOND time on a story if you want to - the wonderful Admins add it to the previous comment so they can be seen together. I've had that happen myself, but I'm not sure if it is still possible.

The comment set up automatically alerts that you have already commented on the story, and it is discarded from the story's comments.
