hi ppl
I was wondering if anyone could help. I am looking for someone to help edit my stories. I sometimes struggle with spelling and punctuation and would really appreciate someone to be an editor for me. I'm afraid there is nothing in it but the opportunity to get to read my latest work before the rest get to see it and the everlasting gratitude and friendship for doing it. There would be no need to meet up in person, so location would not be a problem. Just a better grasp of the English language than I have or at least a better grasp of English grammar!

These stories would just be for posting on here and sites like this and not for publication. If that changed I would of course discuss it with anyone who became my editor. BTW This is not as impossible as it might seem as pre lockdown someone expressed an interest in publishing my work.

Thank you for at least reading this post.

regards
pim

I’d be happy to do it. As long as you’re not churning out a few thousand words every day.

pim8parnell, I'm glad you've found a volunteer to assist you. But after reading your post, I must say that I can't imagine it would be a very difficult job since your grasp of the English language & grammar seems excellent.

Some of the time, and some of the time it goes completely out the window!

I cannot predict when either happens so sometimes it takes me longer to edit the 'bleeding' stories than write them to start with! Which i find immensely frustrating and some days my attempts at spelling are so poor that i end up choosing a different word to the one i actually want because not only i can't spell the word but my attempt at spelling it is so far off that i can't even look it up!

-sigh-
Plus ca change.

Thank you for your kind offer. I'd like to take you up on it if I may.
My output is not every day and I have only just started back writing after a break of over 10 years now. As a starting point I am going to try to write a story every week or two and see how it goes.

Yikes! That reminded me to get on with the proofreading I supposed to be doing.
