Only To A Spanko

Was working on other things and had the television on in the background. A commercial (advert) came one that crowed “It’s Banking at its Finest!” Except that’s not what I heard. My head popped up expecting something far different than I got. I guess even innocuous commercials can be relatable when you’re a spanko.

I think my phone must have been infected with a similar tendency. Any time I start to enter a word beginning with 'spa' - Spanish, spare, space, spanner, etc - it immediately suggests 'spanking' as an option....

I find it hard to believe that you would have any reason to be writing the word ‘spanner’ except in a post about words beginning ‘spa’.

If the people on the commercials talked slower and annunciated, I wouldn’t have to look up eagerly and be sorely disappointed.

I admit that only an hour or so after reading this post I was getting a birthday card out of a shopping bag to send to someone, and glanced at my receipt to check the price, and had a double take what did I buy this poor person? moment till my eyes settled and I realised the receipt said ‘Large female sparkling b’day card’.

Birthday sparklings are probably cool too. Not quite the same, but probably pretty cool.

I didn't realise you could get cards for large females.

There was recently a series of I think bank adverts where all the characters upon successfully finishing a transaction, patted their own bottoms in a way which the spanko could easily misinterpret. Sadly I think the gesture was something to do with their wallet or possibly payment card being in the back pocket, but a smack on each transaction was so much more appealing
