Films that need spanking scenes

The promo card for the original Father of the Bride with Liz Taylor and Spencer Tracy showed him taking his daughter over his knee, but it never happened in the film. False advertising! I would have liked to see Isla Fisher’s childlike tantrum throwing daughter character in The Weddng Crashers get the spanking she really deserved.

The Major and the Minor (1942) was the first film Billy Wilder directed in the US. In it the character played by Ginger Rogers - who was 31 at the time - pretends to be a 12-year-old girl in order to pay half-fare on a train. Escaping from the train guard, she hides in the compartment of a Major, played by Ray Milland, who improbably enough buys into her kiddie impersonation. Only later does he find out she's an adult, and - of course - falls in love with her.

If ever a girl needed spanking - in either of her guises or both....

One film that both needed a spanking scene and got one, but still managed to be disappointing was the original True Grit. Kim Darby's character definitely needed one, and Glen Campbell's character promised her one and gave it, but it was aborted by John Wayne's Rooster Cogburn before it really got off the ground and before she got even half of what she deserved. I did see the remake, but it was obviously forgettable enough that I can't even remember if also recreated the scene.

Don't remember much about the film, been a long time I saw it, but remember thinking Goldie Hawn so needed a spanking in Cactus Flower.
And how about those early 60s beach films with Frankie Avalon and Annette Funicello? All those bratty girls in their bikinis(by today's standards pretty modest ones, but considered pretty daring and too revealing by many then). And then there was the girls of the gang who the good kids had problems with , who called themselves the Mice. I think we'd agree they were good candidates.
There was a spanking mention in one of the films, Muscle Beach Party, when the cocky guy who thought himself a real stud got back to earth by his father, and is saying to him, " Papa, please don't spank me."
And speaking of girl gangs, what better candidates than Angelina Jolie and her companions in Foxfire! There is the incident where they stole a car and got caught, and were before a stern woman judge. Just imagine her sentencing them all to a public paddling! The Jolie character was indeed sent to a juvenile correctional facility, another opportunity for her to have received some cp from a matron

I remember an old episode of Laugh-In where Goldie Hawk was go go dancing while wearing a bikini with the words spank here painted on the bottom half. If only.

True Lies. The great scene when Jamie Lee Curtis does a dance in her bra and panties. I think it would have been even better if she’d have been told to bend over a high backed chair in the hotel room. Then Arnie blistered her bottom with the paddle. I’m sure there might have been some dancing after that as she tried to sooth the fire on her bottom.

They made it more probably by giving him a reason not to see well. If memory serves, he really needed glasses, but he wasn't wearing them to strengthen his eyes so he could be deployed in the field.

In short, only a blind man would mistake the grown woman for a little girl, but the Major was at least half blind.

why do I know so much about this old movie? Because I used it as the basis for a story where a university student borrows the concept to get a child's fare on a bus ride home for the holidays.

There were a couple of films that were deliberately set up to promise spankings, or rather canings, that then did not happen. I suppose the obvious one is The Quiet Man, with John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara, in the good old days before John Wayne's characters went all Ayn Rand. In the final John ford avalanche of the entire neighbourhood to witness Wayne slugging it our with Victor McClaglen, and Wayne is dragging Maureen O'Hara with him, an elderly lady offers him a switch 'to beat the pretty lady'. No such luck. Maybe it happened in some later film?
Then there's Jezebel, the film I believe Bette Davis was offered as a consolation prize for not getting Scarlett O'Hara. (This is getting very Oirish) She is a very self willed almost wicked young woman -- she wears red dresses! -- and finally her fiance Henry Fonda has had enough. He takes a walking cane from the rack and storms upstairs to her boudoir, clearly intending to thrash her. There is a shot which I found heart stoppingly erotic (I haven't seen the film for thirty years or more) of Fonda's hand on the stick in close up, while Bette Davis' enormous eyes are gazing at it with what I take to be a mixture of dread and yearning.
Of course, she talks him out of it.

I forgot to add, I thought the suggestion of Peggy Sue Got Married was just perfect. Those clothes!

There was almost one in Meet Me In St Louis. Judy Garland was about to spank younger sister Margaret O’Brien (and the character simply begged for a good spanking with her consistently obnoxious behaviour), then Judys older sister got her to laugh and the moment was over, and the brat went unspanked.
