According to the banner, today is day 4000 of the site! I thought it'd be interesting to look at where we were 4000 days ago (30th August 2009). I personally was about to start Year 5 at school - I was 9 years old! How about yourselves?

Ooh, you're so horribly young. In August 2009 I had a one year old child and we were living in a flat in the attic of a Georgian building with no central heating. I think I might have been blonde at the time but maybe that was 2010.

That's what I was thinking. Some of us just went from old to older in that time. It's good to mark the occasion though. Those pre-library days were pretty grim.

Don't some of the stories go back before 2009?

I suspect I am not the only one on here who has become a grandad and a pensioner since 2009.

That was my reaction, too. Life is lived on a logarithmic scale where change becomes increasingly gradual, until it eventually ceases altogether.

@Brosse6
The Bottom Lines site, operated by the same management team (Februs and flopsybunny), had a collection of stories beginning about 2007, which were transplanted to the LSF with their original dates upon founding of the LSF. I know this because it happened with some of mine. Therefore, in one sense i've "been here" before there was a "here," even though I didn't formally join the LSF until 8 months into the LSF run. (Actually there are "two of me" here - my active user name, plus an inactive one with the "BL" icon, for "Bottom Lines" - that seemingly was imported from Bottom Lines).

As well as being an oldtimer here (dating back to the early days), I'm also an actual oldtimer in real life, not being anywhere near young even back 11 years ago.

2009? I was just a sophomore in Highschool. I also think that was the year my folks found out about my fetish... that was a very awkward conversation...

I was in my second year of University and, according to my library card, still a year away from discovering this place! It would be another 8 years after first becoming a member that I would finally get to live some of this fantasy out in real life, after I moved to London.
