It does open the question: are all bottoms spank'able? Sure, in a technical sense but a rounded bottom as in two half globes is an absolute dream in spanking. The fact is that the rest of the body can be of any shape, size, type(!), ethnicity or colour as long as the bottom is as a world globe from school, cut in half and put at the end of the back. ...so to answer my own question: No, not all bottoms are as spank'able as a perfect rounded one, but that has nothing to do with the rest of the body.

This is true, I tend to feel a lot has to do with how much the spine concaves at the base. If it concaves too little the buttocks are not pronounced, which renders them less attractive. High heel shoes enhance this curvature on women, as well as lift the sit spot giving the 'pert' effect.

Back in the 70s my mate's girlfriend had what I called a "teddybear" bottom, which has little spankability. She was an attractive girl generally but with a thickish waist and a flat back which made her look like a teddybear. Her bottom was wide but did not project outwards.

Some years ago I found that women also enjoy spankable bottoms. Marinella has a good point.

i can't agree with the order of merit, mainly because I have no attraction whatsoever to male bottoms, Though I guess that one of my favourite artists David Hockney could and probably has drawn and painted many for his own enjoyment.
The Three Graces are much better than tenth, of other artists I like, Degas of course could draw a very erotic female back and bottom, and I enjoy the bottoms that Pierre Bonnard the post-impressionost painted as they have an undefinable realism about them.I personally find the depictions of the impressionists and post-impressionists far more interesting than reality painters.

Addendum: The cover illustration for Hot Bottom Stories by Frank Martinet at the head of the oage is to me exceptionally erotic.

I'd go along with that. I'm not too keen on extremes, either very flat male bottoms or excessively rounded female ones. I often think that an appreciation of the bottom is at the heart of my spanking fetish. Spanking provides a convenient excuse to give the bottom one's full attention!

The Guardian's list only looks at 'classic art'. Should we not have a category for more modern popular art?
