I don't see anything "warped" about your preference Wooz1111. If you are a spanking purist, which I regard myself to be, then you follow the original and traditional sources, which for me mean the following:
1. Spankings are a genuine punishment and must hurt. (A strict 1950s aunt would spank for swearing and rudeness)
2. The spanker is serious about administering the punishment. (It should be very matter of fact)
3. The spankee must reach a point beyond when they want it desperately to stop, but not too far. (It is not a spanking unless it hurts)
4. The spanking leaves welts and bruises that last for days, but does not scar.
5. Basically it is a replication of what happened in many homes and schools 60 years ago.
