Well, I believe that you're taking the attitudes and actions of a small minority of extremists and applying them to the feminist movement overall, which is a highly misleading distortion.

The same thing happens when those people who practice severe degrees of BDSM, in which some participants may end up being seriously damaged, are considered to be representative of the spankophile community's membership.

In any major mainstream movement, there tends to be a minor yet vocal minority which wishes to cross the boundaries of common sense and reason...

Well unfortunately with the rise of the "Me Too" movement and political correctness bullying us all into submission I feel reasonable feminists are now very much in the minority. The Labour Party has been taken over by a particularly humourless crowd of feminists. I used to feel quite at home there amongst the socialists, anarchists and assorted left leaning types but no longer. Elderly dinosaurs like myself are no longer welcome! A friend of mine was recently suspended from our local party for making a mildly sexist remark! No one dares to say what they think anymore! If you even wolf whistle at a woman you can be arrested for a hate crime not that I have ever wolf whistled at anyone but its all too silly for words. Having said all that let me say I am in favour of equality and always make sure I do the washing up if she who must be obeyed has done the cooking.

It is fantastic and hardly to believe, that after about 30 years there is a man, who remembers old sweet Janus and just a little postcard in it. After 1989, it was my first window into LSF theme. And the first love is the best love... Many greetings to you!

It is everything but hilarious. A bunch of English ignorants laughing as monkeys on theme they know nothing about and saying cowsheds. I am glad not to be English.

We do usually try to avoid high dudgeon here, it's not good for your blood pressure!

Also because TTWD also has strong elements of being ludicrous, I mean we all know that, don't we, when we think about how deliciously humiliating it is?

I think the clip is funny for many reasons - first the guy is ejected instantly after saying 'at Easter Czech women beg to be whipped', because of PC I guess. Then the fact that it's a Czech woman next is instantly funny. Of course they listen to her.

I especially like the bit when Graham Norton says to her 'so do you beg to whipped' and she makes a lovely thoughtful, slightly rueful face and then says 'yes', then a great little pause and, 'at Easter'.

By the end, people are engaged more in thinking about this custom.

Which by the way is funny and fun, all the videos I've ever seen show people laughing. I too remember the Czech postcard, the first thing I did, when I saw it, was smile.

Honestly, if you think people aren't going to laugh about people spanking each other you're going to have a very offended life.

As someone who largely gave up on feeling British many years ago, but does follow what goes on there, I would agree with you. British humour exists below the radar these days, as the mainstream media have become humourless prudes.
