Sorry. Couldn't resist the joke. However, non-consensual spanking/touching-even of the Disciplinary kind (unless it's been agreed ahead of time that such authority has been granted), is a big non-no in RL. Fiction, that's another matter but in RL, NO-NO! In anycase, the link for the incident is below.

When I walk up behind a woman with a nice looking backside, do I want to smack her but, YES, do I do it, NO. It's sexual harassment and there's no place for it in society, period. I hope they find this guy, and he get's an on air interview, live, then we'll see how the women in his life react.

I could see how he was tempted though. She was getting in his way and being extremely annoying to his fellows. Without knowing her, though, it wasn't really the thing to do. Online, a lot of people supported him and think she had no right to complain, given what she was doing.

Sorry but, bull.

If you haven't, watch the Video.

She was literally just doing her job and she *wasn't* getting in 'his way' he *literally* diverted as soon as he saw her so he could smack her (she was also standing to the side, not impeding anyones run.)

As for being 'extremely annoying' to his 'fellows' i'm not sure how she did that by standing on the side of the course reporting on the run?

This is just one guy being wildly inappropriate.

Well, a few runners were diverting over to where the female reporter was standing, then waving as they passed by (one kid even jumped in front of her) to attract attention to themselves, so they could get a second or two of camera time. That might have created the impression that she was in the path of those runners, however in fact they were veering off the course toward her.

The guy who smacked her bottom may simply have acted impulsively, still his behavior was wildly inappropriate and certainly demeaning to his victim. Not only that, but she was clearly being filmed by her camera crew at the time, so his chances of being identified were pretty high.

As stevenr pointed out, there are plenty of sweet feminine derrieres out there which are temptingly 'smackable,' yet a mature, responsible person is expected to control his/her impulses. (I actually did slap an opulent, rotund rear end while out riding my bike a couple days ago, however the woman it belonged to, pedaling an adult-sized three-wheeler, was my darling wife.)

Hopefully the offender will end up apologizing on film to the reporter, admitting to his misbehavior and explaining why it violated the lady's person--I'd prefer that over any legal action, although technically he did commit an assault...

Totally inappropriate. (Not to mention illegal, though I agree with Crimson Kid hardly worth trouble to take legal action).
Even if she had been annoying or in the way(she was not) still would not excuse his action. I get irritated when people block sidewalks or stairs to hold a conversation, or block store aisles yakking on their cell phones, but I know I am not permitted to shove or knock them out of the way, tempting as it may be sometimes!

Totally out of order, disrespectful and targetted, he made the move to do it from a little way back.

Man up and openly apologise, i wonder how he would feel if a guy slapped his partners backside without invitation.

Keep your hands to yourself Mr.

Well, he managed to make the situation even worse by giving a half-assed apology where he tried to claim he was raising his hand to wave at the camera and somehow accidentally struck the reporter. Didn't really explain how dipping his shoulder and swinging is part of raising your hand to wave. He's been called out for having 2 daughters, asking if he'd want them to be subjected to a creepy guy swatting their asses. He's also a Boy Scout leader, which doesn't exactly inspire confidence in him; what kind of 'molder of young men' assaults a woman on live tv and then lies to try to excuse his boorish behavior?

Update: he's now been arrested and charged with sexual battery after she filed charges against him (and her television station is supporting her). In addition to smacking her ass she says he also gave it a grab. Yet in a new 'apology' he still claims "I did not mean to do this."

He posted $1,300 bond. He's also been barred for life from all races sponsored by the Savannah Sports Council.
