I take your point, but many European TV companies produce excellent plays on very low budgets. Yes "Period Pieces" will be expensive because of props and costumes, but as most spankings occur at an everyday domestic level costs can easily be kept down.

The scene for a spanking set need only be an ordinary bedroom, family lounge, farm barn or a Principal's Office, such sets are easy to find and cheap. Clothes in general are everyday wear, again cheap.

It is often the lack of attention to simple detail and overkill that lets spanking movies down.

If you look at the realistic mainstream spankings in say "Crawl" or "Dorsvloer vol Confetti" they are low budget scenes.

The next phase in the professional spanking video will have female and male players who will be called actors and not models. Let's have them deliver well written, rehearsed dialog. Hopefully, the writer will have some experience in receiving and or giving a spanking to an adult.

Realism: I want the spanking to seem real - emotional confrontation, OTK/Other, dramatic lowering of clothing, multiple camera angles, faces, the sound of hand/implement on the bottom, changing color of the bottom, possibly some build-up to crying and the aftercare. Does it have to be real? Can Hollywood special effects be used in a seamless way that I can't see. That would be ok.

I am not that experienced but the women I have spanked over the years when I let them up they aren't crying but their faces are flushed, eyes are wet and need a kleenex. I don't see this much in video spankings.

Porn is not real life though it's just fantasy. For every one purist spanker and spankee there will be 1000 others who will pay for the so-so stuff. Spanking porn is just a business for most producers after all. They will do as all business do, make the highest possible profit for the lowest possible outlay on its product.

Actually Caddiejo I don't think Spanking movies should be classed or viewed as "Porn". There is far more to a spanking obsession/fascination than just sexual gratification.

Also I find the exposing of genitalia in spanking movies off putting.

There is a huge market out there for well made and realistic spanking movies without any need for bonking, pegging, butt plugs etc. The Mainstream movie and publishing industry does seem to be aware of this, but sadly political correctness gets in the way of more spankings in mainstream novels and films.

I personally agree 100% with you Brosse6, a spanking fetish/kink encompasses much deeper needs and satisfactions than mere sexual gratification. However, even though we may both dislike it or disagree with it, spanking and bdsm movies are considered to be a sub-genre of the more widespread vanilla porn industry and making money is the main aim of the industry.

Very true Caddiejo, but hopefully things will change. In the last 30 years LGBT literature and film has moved out of the "porn" bracket to become largely mainstream, even though much of it is still erotica aimed at profiteering from that community.

Money drives everything, and if a market can be identified someone will supply it, and maybe we will see more "quality" spanking available that isn't classed as porn soon.

My husband and I used to enjoy shadowlane videos. The videos were not only of good quality but some even had a story line.

I have a mental game when watching TV. I imagine what it would be like to live in a world where spanking has gone mainstream and producers are trying to cash in by adding spankings into tired TV formats such as gameshows, and editing spanking scenes into movies and TV soaps. They'd use CGI and body doubles (unknown young actresses trying to earn their Equity cards) for older programmes, or call the original actresses back to reprise their roles for newer offerings.

It's given me ideas for a few stories, and, until we get the sort of high-quality spanking videos we'd all like, it makes watching the average evening's TV much more interesting!

Keep in mind that there's still LGBT porn, which is not the same thing as LGBT literature and film as a whole. Any more than romantic comedies and adventure stories with hetero subplots are straight porn.

Spanking videos I think, even if they aren't explicitly sexual, are primarily there to cater to a fetish. That makes them porn in my book. No need to run from the label.

I agree SNM, but my point is that erotica generally is much more mainstream now and a large chunk of spanking literature and film is not overtly pornographic in the same way much of the LGBT erotica is not considered pornographic anymore.
