In which case I defer to your superior knowledge.

I wasn't trying to cause offence.

No offense taken.

I have seen many, many online disputes caused by one side thinking "Blah means Y" and the other side thinking "blah means Y". I've reached the point that when I think that might be happening I do a post to make sure everyone's on the same page.

And yes, sometimes a different dispute starts up where both sides insisted their interpretation is right and all other interpretations are wrong.

For second Y, presumably read Z?

Um, yes.

One of these days I will go an entire 24 hours without mistyping on the internet. True, I don't think it's happened since I've been online (i.e. 1992) but that just means that I'm due.

BlooDenim:
I have reported several people for inappropriate posts, I personally do not like stories of children being punished, nor the cartoons of such, but I draw the line at photos of anyone who looks underage.

But who are you, the moral police? What business it of yours what does and doesn't entertain others? Telling people what they can and can't like is the begining of a very slippery slope.
I'm afraid it's busybodies like you who will in time get even vanilla sites like this one shut down.
There's lots of things I personally don't like. I simply move on and find something I do like. Why not try that?

Reporting something doesn't get that thing banned, at least on the better sites.

Reporting something just says "Hey, I think there's something wrong here" and someone else makes the decision if there is something wrong with it. If there's nothing wrong with it then it doesn't get removed.
