To make it more awkward - the mother is a spanker. I do not believe the strip ever shows her son getting spanked, but his younger sister makes the occasional appearance over her mother's lap.

Examples of her getting cross with her daughter include:

This reminded me of a high school buddy's horror story, except in his case the roles were reversed.

This was back in the '70s when they'd keep you in the hospital for days instead of trying to boot you out the door ASAP. He'd wrecked his car and dinged himself up pretty badly. For the first couple of days he was heavily medicated and pretty much out of it.

But around the 4th day he woke up from dozing to find all the lights turned out and a teenage boy's best friend showing its own first signs of life post-wreck. With the coast clear for the moment they quickly got reacquainted and the reunion was rather explosive, so to speak.

Realizing he needed to dispose of the evidence, he reached behind him for the box of tissues...

... and made eye contact with his mother, who was desperately trying to pretend she'd been reading her book so intently she'd failed to notice her son whacking off several feet away. Apparently she gave up on the charade, got up and dropped the box of tissues in his hand and walked out without saying a word.

The whole "Fuck My Life" trope was still decades away, but if it had been around back then this would have been a shining example. As he put it, "my face had to have been redder than my dick." Nothing was ever said about it, although he had trouble making eye contact with his mom for quite a while afterwards.

Note that he was absolutely hammered when he shared this story in college; I don't think that I could ever get drunk enough to admit to a story like that (although knowing his mom, I could see her doing exactly what he'd claimed).

Me, too. For me, it's all in the mother's face: the contrast between the distracted 'Mmmm' in frame 1 and the blushing horror in frame 2.

Thanks for posting the link, GG.

Well, in the first comic strip, I'd venture that if there actually was "zero gravity" in at least that part of the house, Yuna should have continued moving toward the controls of her anti-gravity generator. Why would she suddenly stop, when inertia should have kept her going until she hit an obstruction?

The second strip, wherein the girl actually does get maternally spanked by Ye Thuza, demonstrates the mindset of a pure scientist like Yuna, that her experiment has top priority--if her brother's action figures have to be sacrificed for that purpose, that's the price of scientific inquiry.

I'm not certain if she feels the same way about the 'price' being exacted on the seat of her pants (while occupied by her bottom) though...

In the first cartoon posted, it is actually the 3rd frame that really resonates. How many of us have had that 'oh sh.t' moment when we realize we can't unsay what has been said, or we can't re-hide our stash that has been uncovered, or undo that moment when we have been caught in a compromising position doing the things we do.

The relationship changes instaneously. There is no putting the geni back in the bottle.

That was very good. She gave an honest answer without thinking.

Oh come on TEM ! I am sure 80% of the worlds population past the age of adolescence must have had at least one such moment.

Ahhhh, simply to prove your point, why don't you tell us about at least one of the 'revealing' moments from your own extensive life experience...??
