Allison Mack, who played Chloe Sullivan in Smallville, is now my contender for the actress most Needing of a spanking. I found the following article on scifi wire.

Smallville's Allison Mack Likely Facing Arrest in Connection to Cult

Smallville star Allison Mack may be facing arrest for her connection to a so-called sex cult following the apprehension of the cult's leader earlier this week. That's according to sources speaking with ARTVOICE, who allege that Mack is the "Co-Conspirator 1" (CC-1) named in a legal complaint filed by the FBI.

Keith Raniere, the leader of the cult known as NXIVM (pronounces "Nexium") was taken into custody by Mexican federal police on Sunday and extradited to the U.S. to face charges of sex trafficking and conspiracy to commit forced labor. Mack was reportedly on site when Raniere was arrested.

The FBI complaint details the experiences of a number of women recruited to NXIVM's DOS, a group made entirely of women who operated in a Master/Slave hierarchy with Raniere at the apex of the pyramid. Recruits were forced to turn over collateral—sometimes in the form of damning documents, other times in the form of credit card numbers. From there, they were indoctrinated into the group's negative beliefs about women, sometimes put on extremely restrictive diets, and were forced to perform "acts of care" for their Masters. These would generally include basic acts common to a personal assistant, like getting coffee, carrying luggage, grocery shopping, etc. Eventually, many of these "Slaves" were required to perform sexual acts with Raniere.

Speaking to the press on Monday, FBI Assistant Director in Charge, William Sweeney called Raniere's actions "serious crimes against humanity" and said Raniere "displayed a disgusting abuse of power in his efforts to denigrate and manipulate women he considered his sex slaves."

These new details add to accusations from a New York Times piece last October in which former cult members described their experiences inside the group, including a ceremony that involved branding a symbol which included Raniere's initials into the skin on their hip.

According to reports from around the time of the NYT article, Mack was a high-level recruiter for the organization, positioned directly below Raniere, and may have been responsible for the creation of DOS in 2015. She joined NXIVM in 2006 along with fellow Smallville star Kristin Kreuk. Kreuk, however, says she left the organization in 2013 and never witnessed any of the group's more illegal activities. In a statement on Twitter, Kreuk expressed sympathy and support for victims of Raniere.

Raniere reportedly used the moderate celebrity of both actresses as a recruitment tool. According to Mack's own website, Raniere was a mentor to her for years and the two of them went on to found The Source, a program for actors operating under the NXIVM umbrella.

In 2017, Frank Parlato, a former spokesman for NXIVM, broke with the group and started a website where he has written extensively on NXIVM, DOS, and other organizations associated with Raniere. There he discusses Mack's involvement as a key player in the 'secret society' of women, recruiting additional Slaves for the group and participating in their ongoing activities.

So far, no charges have been filed against Mack or any other women involved in NXIVM or DOS. In a statement on their website, NXIVM maintains Raniere's innocence.

Granted, this is a very serious business. I honestly can't tell if Mack is a victim, who has been brainwashed to do bad things, a vile disturbed woman who is totally unlike Chloe Sullivan or (based on the article) a submissive who got in way over her head. So let's just say, I feel really sorry for the victims of this mess.

That being said, and mindful of the new restriction that we can no longer use real life people in spanking stories, I have to say that since reading the article I keep have the storyline run through my head that somehow Smallville's Clark Kent, Chloe Sullivan, Lois lane & Oliver Queen encounter some situation that sends them to our world. Naturally, learning of Mack's troubles they set out to find out if she's innocent or not and, if so, they get her out of the mess. However, Chloe thinking the originator of her face needs a bit of specialized attention from both her and Oliver Queen. As for Lois, she has a small discussion with Kreuk. Clark, ever the boy scout, spends the time trying and finding a way to get his friends home while studiously ignoring what's happening to the two actresses.

So, no story, just some musings that have been plaguing my brain since last night.

That's a weird cult where to be empowered a women becomes subservant to men. I'd never include something like that in a story because it would be just too weird to believe.

Maybe Alison might actually enjoy that, that is if she had a sub role at outset or indeed if it ongoing.

It might be believable in the story if they were on red Kryptonite or whatever the kind was where Clark's personality changed completely and he became more villainous.

This whole situation is just so sad. Consensual is the key. One might be frightened, scared but still brave enough to know what they Need and seek it consensually even if others might find it severe but this...I admire Mack's early work as an actress as it provides hope and the character of Chloe is an excellent role-model. Sadly, Mack has been proven to be exactly the opposite.

Sometimes, a character is completely different from the person he, or she plays. I used to be a fan of professional wrestling before it just got be such a sham that it was impossible to suspend belief. One of the wrestlers in the 80s who had the most hateful ring persona was Tully Blanchard. One of his main rivals was Terry Allen, AKA Magnum TA. When Terry wrecked his Corvette, has was, at first, not expected to live. Tully Blanchard, along with his "dirty" manager, James J. Dillon, sat by his hospital bedside, as he was, in reality, their friend. Tully prayed for his recovery.

Talking to someone today, he raised an interesting point - what can you consult to?

Can you consult to be spanked? Sure.
Can you consult to be branded? Um, sure. I wouldn't, but if you're into that sort of thing there are lots of tattoo parlor who do branding and other forms of scarification.
Can you consult to live in a D/s relationship? Sure.

Except in this case, where the women are assumed not to be able to consult. Why? Because they joined a group that seems to have taken many of its ideas from Scientology. Of all the hundreds who went through the experience. only two are laying charges.

Which leads to another "can you" question:
Can you make a decision you later regret? Say getting a tattoo on your face, a bad piercing, sleeping with the wrong person, or joining a weird group with your eyes open because you think it might help your acting career? Yes you can, but in that last case the police and DA will bring charges.

I'm not saying that this is what happened here, but that I'll admit that I don't have all the information to say that this group is worse than Scientology. Which isn't an endorsement, just that they might not have done anything worse than Scientology does.
