A big thank you to you all for your good wishes - much appreciated. They cheered me up. I'm back home and doing ok, though still in quite a bit of pain, and with a very impressive 10-inch Frankenstein scar!! I've got quite proficient at hobbling around on crutches, and they come in very handy for giving the cat a quick poke when she jumps onto my chair and refuses to budge.
Thanks for your patience. I'm returning to work on a part time basis so library stuff will still be backed up until I can tackle things fully.
Off to apply a cryo ice pack and wrestle with my surgical stockings

No, we haven't, we've all uploaded a shitload of stories, leaving you the biggest pile ever

It's wonderful to have you back Flopsy. We all wish you a quick recovery so you can stop limping around, having to beat the cat up.

Only the coolest of hosiery for Flopsy i see.

They say laughter is the best medicine, though i think analgesia might be the preferred option for a while.

Take care, heal well and we look forward to your return when you are fighting fit.

Sounds like me when I was recovering from knee replacement. Our cats would play chase between my crutches to test my balance or try to claim the bed to convince me to stay up longer. They didn't seem to make the connection that Dad needed to recuperate if they wanted to continue getting their Kibbles & Bits.
