Fli-back paddle?

They were marketed as a kids toy and kids are rough on toys. Part of a kid's job description. When my daughter was a little the first thing she seemed to do with a Barbie doll was twist its head off, then tear off the clothes. Her toy box looked like something out of the horror section at the Wax Museum.

'Red bouncy bottoms' was, as far as parents were concerned, their greatest selling point! By the time my mom was through with using one of those my butt cheeks looked like 'two mounds of jello'! Two hot 'steaming mounds of jello'! lol. My English wife cracks up with laughter when I use this expression.

There was a famous scene in an old movie, The Misfits, where the legendary Marilyn Monroe used one of those Fli-back paddles to prove how many consecutive times she could hit the ball in order to win a bar bet. As she was smacking the ball with the paddle and the crowd was making side bets and counting the strokes, the camera zeroed in on her bottom just as a man stepped up an started spanking her in rhythm with the strokes and the counting.

Ah! What sane person could have been able to resist that? Frankly, to me the entire scene was a sublime insinuation for a spanking sequence.
