When I was in high school, (I graduated 50 years ago) I read a story. I don't remember if it was in a textbook, or if it was in a book I found in the school library. The central character recalled a time a few years before, when his father caught him doing something he wasn't supposed to be doing, and said, "I hope you enjoyed that, because you're going to get a spanking." At present he had embarked on some forbidden adventure that he realized he would be punished for, and so decided to keep on doing whatever it was he was doing, so in his words, he could get a spanking's worth of enjoyment out of it. As I recall, he told his father this when he got caught, but his father decided not to spank him. The title of the story, as best I remember, was "A Spanking's Worth." Sorry I'm fuzzy on the details, but it's been a long time since I read this story. Does anyone else on this board recall this story and remember who the author was? Even more important, would this story be available today, and where? |
