I'm mentally kicking myself.

After missing the deadline for last year's Christmas Story I wrote a new one, but forgot I had written it. Now I have a mostly written one and a completed one.

What the heck - I'll post the one this year. It will be a bit late, but I'll live with that.

If you look up the origins of the celebration of Christmas it will tell of the early origins were certainly of pagan origins.

That's actually a myth: most scholars nowadays believe the Christmas date was set because of an old Jewish tradition that a prophet dies on the anniversary of his conception (which would have been March 25).

The Orthodox Church also celebrates on December 25, but in the old Julian calendar (which corresponds to January 7 in our modern Gregorian calendar).
