*sigh*
This is where it sucks being my age. As I discovered a few years ago, once you get to a certain age, it becomes difficult to accurately gauge the age of "them damn kids".
My first encounter with this was when I was 36. I had ended up in a band (I was the bass player and lead singer), and we ended up booked to play in local bars. The thing was ... I had been a major drunk in my 20s, but one thing led to another and I sobered up and stopped drinking when I was 28. So there I was, 36 years old, sober for 8 years and hadn't set foot in bar in that time.
We played our first gig in a bar, and I was looking out at the audience ... and found myself asking, "Is anybody checking IDs when they let these people in?" Because, as far as I could tell, I was looking at a bunch of teenagers. But, yes, they were all over 21. And that's when it hit me: I was old enough that I couldn't easily tell the difference between a 17-year-old and a 21-year-old. I suddenly understood why all of those older people I met in bars when I was 21 called me a "puppy". Imagine my position now that I'm almost 49, and checking out spankable bottoms.
So. Those "college girls" I mentioned in my original post? They're not college girls. I finally asked my boss how old they are. They're high school girls. 16-17 years old. GAH! Now I feel like even more of a creep for looking. I'm probably older than their fathers. Though, in my own defense, the local high schools have a program that allows high school students to take classes at the junior college (I know this because I have two teenaged nieces, and my 16-year-old niece is taking college classes), and one of these coworkers of mine is doing that. Since I'd only heard of her classes at the college, I'd assumed she was 18-19 years old. Honest mistake. And since the other two girls are her friends, I naturally assumed they were also 18-19. Nope. The first girl is 16, and the other two are 17.
Though I just discovered today that the one I mentioned in my OP as having a remarkably spankable bottom will be turning 18 later this month ... |
