Even though it's not a theme we choose it's simply writing a story surrounding the topic. We do this all the time when submitting stories. There are quite a few futuristic (back in time and forward in time) stories in the LSF. As I've stated, it's not a hard challenge. We have some great authors here, and there should be no excuses. Not with the talent the LSF has.

I have entries and I hope the challenge continues. I love trying to guess who wrote what although my win/loss average on my guesses is about 15%...LOL. As I said before this is a "fiction" site so I never worry about historical accuracy. If I lose points because of accuracy I really don't care. I just like writing.

Please contribute fellow writers. This is a great time for new authors to slide a story in and see how it does without worrying about it. Writers are usually awarded with a lot of comments on the stories and that alone is so encouraging

Recently I have been having a ball writing poems and have enjoyed all the nice comments. I don't get to write as much as I would like to, but will do my best to get a story in before the deadline.

I plan to submit an entry, assuming I finish it. But it will likely be submitted close to the deadline. I thought I might actually get 2 written, but now that it is 9/21, and I haven't started the second one (or finished the first) I have my doubts.

There may only be 8 submitted so far, but, based on prior experience, I think many of us are procrastinators when it comes to writing for these challenges. So, my guess is that we will far surpass the 20 needed by 9/30.

In the spirit of "every cloud has a silver lining" (nice saying, but probably atmospherically incorrect - I'm a writer, dammit, not a meteorologist), a few less entries might even be a good thing. Maybe if there are fewer stories to judge than previous challenges, more people will have time to read all the stories, even the longish ones.

Well, I got my 2 in now, so hopefully the tally is up to at least 10. I tend to agree with smeple in that a smaller number of entries is less over whelming for the prospective reader. I probably would have had my entries done earlier, but I chose to write 2 and divide my time equally between them.

I think that one of the best features of the Spanking Library is the contest and interaction between readers and authors. I will get my entry in and possibly another if time allows. I want to support this fine endeavor and I will do my part to keep the contest from fading away.

I hope I can get mine done on time but I am only 737 words into it. I almost wrote 737 years into it!

Yesterday I was threatened with TWO spankings if I did not get my story finished. I finished it yesterday and it has been submitted. We are now up to 10 submissions.

What...I would have thought you would have said something like...I will take the spankings...and then after that sent the stories in just in time....LMAO

That is what I would have done...I think depending on what the spanker was holding when the threat was made...LOL

Got one ready to send. I found this a little difficult and time-consuming because of the research involved so I'm not surprised the count is relatively low, but I also like writiing to a challenge and not just my own agenda.
