Even though her humor was sometimes crude and biting, I really admired this great lady of comedy. She had a long life, full of laughs and problems, but never gave up. May she rest in peace.

I agree barb. She didn't give a flying f**k what anybody thought about her routine and everyone was fair game. She was a trail blazer for female comedians everywhere.

Joan Rivers was very similar to Don Rickles. He didn't give a damn what he said, and to whom he said it to either. It was all in fun, but sometimes very crude and biting. I never had anything bad to say about her. Rest In Peace, Joan.

I never cared for her abrasive style of comedy, but she was a trailblazer for sure. Have to admire her for that. May she rest in peace.

I loved her humour. One of my favourites is: " It was a Jewish porno film... one minute of sex and nine minutes of guilt"

"Can we talk?" LOL

I often found her humor too caustic for my tastes, especially in more recent years, but she certainly helped open doors for other female comedians. She didn't let the personal tragedies and obstacles she faced in life keep her from succeeding, and for that she is to be admired for sure. RIP Joan.

I liked her but even I thought she went overboard once in a while. I'm fairly certain all those showbiz types that are leaving fawning tributes to her aren't being entirely honest. I'm sure her zingers left a lot of hard feelings among those who were on the receiving end of them, but it's also a tradition (a la the Friar's Club "roasts") to dreadfully insult and demean your friends for the sake of a laugh, so who knows?

RIP Joan, you leave a huge void in the collective zeitgeist and will be missed.

I didn't mind some of her stuff, but I've never been a fan of a comedy that relies solely on belittling others to get laughs. I'm sure many will say they miss her, but wonder how many of them mean it.

I have never been impressed with "comedians" who tear others apart for a laugh.
