Is it true that you've got to give your real name? Is there any way of not doing so?

I know there are authors who have pages under their author names, not their real ones, so I can't imagine why not. I think you just have to give them a real e-mail address to go with it. Most of my contacts on FB are friends in the real world sense of things though, so my true name is a must.

That is their policy. But it's haphazardly enforced. If you post something that they don't agree with, it's more likely to be enforced. That said, i wouldn't use my real name even if i wanted a vanilla facebook page. Way too much information for identity thieves.

You don't have to give a real name, just a real email address. My FB page is under my author name, Rollin Hand and I use the email addy I use for all publishing/writing business.

Use my real name......let me see...I will have to find my birth certificate to find out what that was again...LOL. I never ever use my real name on any web page besides my bank.

Thanks, all of you! I asked the question because if you want to comment on some blogs you need to be on facebook
