I think it is different for every person

Christian is, and has to be, right because we are all different and react and respond differently to the same set of circumstances. So for some it will be their notion (assumed or real) of their limit of pain tolerance and for some it will be tears, perhaps accompanied by sobbing, or something else entirely different.

I think the point I'm trying to make is that it is always a mental state of mind that derives from the level of pain received and the environment (physical and emotional) it is received in. So on any given day a spankee, facing an identical regime, might reach the point of 'being broken' at different times for different reasons, and not just the pain endured. Much depends on the relationship between the spanker and spankee, which leads me onto my next point.

I truly believe that a spankees notion of 'being broken' will differ between play sessions and punishment sessions, because the two are significantly different. One is clearly consensual, while the other not, so the 'environment' is never going to be the same. The jumping off point for the spankee will be different if what happens next is linked to different outcomes such as intimacy/sex, further embarrassment or humiliation, or a cup of tea or coffee.

The constant in this variable picture of 'being broke' I have alluded to is the spanker. He/She, if the relationship is right, will instinctively or intuitively know. It may be subtle, such as the spankee's body loosing its tension, or obvious, such as a 'safe-word' being given, but it will be obvious to the spanker.

So speaks one tiny person's experience!
