I just noticed this new flag on the front page, and of course I am wondering what is the meaning. I cannot think of how it relates, and if I was smart I would wait for Februs to tell but...

It's the number of days the external version of the LSF has been in existence which means that on August 30th we'll be 2 years old (which some have said is about the mental age of my fellow librarians)

The 'flag' is meant to be a page from a desk calendar...

Who on earth would have the temerity to impugn the Librarians in this way???

You can almost hear the response from the dimly lit room in the depths of the Library building.

As you thread your way through a carpet of discarded crisp packets , you become aware of the faint odour of Sherry.

"Shome Mishtake Ssshurely" Soon followed by "What number extension is Miss Thrashbottom on?"

I've been wondering myself. Checked all the notices even to see what I'd missed. Glad that's all cleared up and I assume that being 'external' means detached from BL. Whew. Maybe it's time for the first drink of the day. Grin!

Oh JohnH. Your going to catch it this time........................................................can I watch?

John Little was today sentenced to seven years' hard labour for impugning a librarian. Dismissing his defence that the librarian enjoyed it, the judge said it was not thanks to him that the librarian had made a full recovery.

This is the first charge of impugnery brought since the famous Twin Hills case in 1928.

I think you best go back to your bottle of sherry, as all the notes you read were dated yesterday which was 725...as JohnH says above.

Well how are we supposed to know what day it is if it keeps changing all the time?
