Question about possibly offensive material

Hi,

As I may have mentioned, I am in the process of writing a narrative about a young English woman who goes to an African country where corporal punishment is used.

The whole story centers around the different views on corporal punishment in the West vs in the country she is visiting. The local culture is portrayed as being very conservative and in favour of strict discipline. I don't know if this is actually a true depiction today. The story takes place about 15-20 years ago - maybe it was more true then.

Before I try to upload the first chapter, I would like some feedback from a member of the moderation team about whether this could violate the policy of possibly offensive material.

The story takes place in a named town in a named country and most of the characters have authentic sounding local names.

Would it be better to make up a fictitious town in a fictitious country?

I don't see what could be offensive in relation to what you state above, so why not just send it in and we'll take it from there and respond direct if there are any problems.
