Geoffrey, I am sure that will not be a problem for many years!

While I understand the wish of the management to protect against unsolicited redistribution, it would be nice if the authors had more control over whether their works could be downloaded.

In the meantime, have you considered creating a blog to upload your stories to? It's very easy with sites such as blogger and wordpress. I am sure there must also be many existing story sites with a download option (or a lack of copy-protection) but I am personally a bit out of the loop.

I am pretty sure that stories being not available to non members is not out of malice.

Its simply necessary to keep the site up. Lets assume astrosmurf puts a story up where the spankee or the spanko gets overly excited, suddenly the site is labelled a porn site or at least unfit for the immature audience. I don't mean the psychological maturity but age based (legal) maturity.

I got web space myself, the provider doesn't allow sexual content to be uploaded neither Nazi or bloody. Fallout2 had multiple versions (US no boobs?, UK no kids, Germany no kids and no bloody action luckily there was a blood patch) I am pretty sure for enough coin it would be allowed. For sure the LSF has similar restrictions. The GDPR doesn't help either. I am using my site mostly for emails now and for back ups. Thanks EU. You will probably need to be a lawyer with all the legal restrictions nowadays.

Since 50 shades, spanking is a kinky form of erotic game play. Thus it might not be possible to simply put it up, you might have to do your best to hide it away from minors or block access for them.

My computer's hard drive packed up and had to be replaced. All the half-written stories, ideas for stories, and related things (such as lists of reasons for spanking/accepting a spanking and alternate terms for bottom) were lost,

A hard way to learn about backing up your work! EVERY author should be backing up EVERYTHING they do! (Sorry about the preaching but I worked in I.T. for a zillion years and it's one of the hard lessons you quickly learn).

Well said, uksteve! As someone who lost a lot of work (and about 40 000 songs) when a hard drive died, I now keep multiple copies of everything. Like my friendly IT guy often advises, "If you have one backup, you don't have any backups." I can't imagine the heartache of having to try and recreate lost stories.

I do this for my and maybe if I'm lucky, for others enjoyment.

I know that someday I won't be able to write, for one reason or another. When that day arrives, I'll most likely disappear from your vision and I'll be forgotten, whatever I wrote will be in the dustbin of history, which is probably where it belongs.

I know this sounds bleak, but as opposed to the make believe, pretend
world I write in, I try to live in the real world in the here and now.

Over the last few years, I've lost good, long time friends. I have good friends now who are fighting cancer and other potentially mortal diseases, I've personally have come perilously close to being homeless. This website, and what writing I've contributed have been an escape for me, and at times a badly needed escape.

The future, I have no idea what the future will be for the Library, I hope it's kept alive and thriving in some form long after I'm gone. I'd love it if decades after I'm gone if someone finds my work and appreciates it. However, if I'm forgotten about, that's all right also.

I'm still kicking myself for not saving stories from other sites which I enjoyed. Many of the sites are now kaput.
