Anyway..........

Getting back onto topic!

I do remember a famous spankee Sophie Fennington whose daughter Vivi Fennington followed her into the same career and is till active down Brighton way. I wonder if Vivi has a daughter who will follow the family tradition?

Me thinks, I have to accept that I will always loose when it comes to puns.

It seems the 'w' isn't pronounced which activates my memory. In approximately 1980 we had to read a text in class and my disadvantage was that the word sword was in my part. While a German English teacher might not have caught my mistake we had an Englishman at the time. At least I will never pronounce it wrong again. It was really embarassing. There you think you did a great job and one word grounds you again.

I like puns but the language barrier defeats them quite a lot.

In Germany we had an entertainer (Heinz Erhardt) who died in the 1970ies but had a stroke a few years prior and lost the use of his language. He was famous for his puns (Wortspiele - word games) and his 4 line verses. He was really funny. Nowadays they prefer cake fights anything more complicated will overstrain the modern audience.

I always heard it as:

"What's the difference between a hormone and an enzyme?"

"You can't hear an enzyme."

Moody's example reminds me of the difficulties I often encountered when in French bakeries, trying to buy bread. It seemed to me as if there were always several shapes and styles, each with their own particular and regional names which somehow appeared never to be the same between bakeries.

Perhaps De Gaulle was right about governing a country with 246 kinds of cheese and the bread naming was a cunning scheme to resist overarching government power.

In a desperate self-plugging segue, the original topic of mothers of spanking models is addressed in my short parody poem Mary Lynn which readers might appreciate.
