What is the SINGLE most favourite story you have ever written and why?

It need not be the most popular you have written, but one that just felt special for you.

Please just add ONE.

'Quote, unquote' - it was the second 'challenge' story I wrote. I was really pleased with the idea of structuring the story around apposite quotes, read by a geeky girl seeking revenge at a high achieving Public School. I thought it worked well, and the idea provided a nice ending too.

Although it was well received I didn't win!

Just one?! It changes over time, but at the moment I think it is "Coming of Age", partly because I am in the middle of writing a sequel (or, more correctly, the same story from a different perspective).

You need to tell us why you chose 'Coming of Age'.

'Dark Summer Night' - an idea that came to me on the summer solstice of 1984. It took me 34 years to commit it to print, but such was it's draw (I could visualise the setting as if I'd actually been there), it stayed with me. Great idea for a thread by the way.

You're so demanding! I guess part of its charm for me is personal; although the plot is strictly fictional, the scenery and the atmosphere are very closely based on what I experienced as a boy in a summer house on the Southern coast of Norway. I think/hope I managed to convey some of that feeling to the readers. And the spanking part isn't too bad, either...

'Right Between the Eyes.' My only attempt at a serious narrative.

I probably have a few for various reasons, but if I have to say just one it would be Big Sister. It was one of my early stories and it was a long held fantasy, so quite personal.

My favourite so far is Religious Observance Part 1.

Even though I made the spankees two teenage girls in the story, it has been a fantasy of mine since being a teenage boy, to have gone to stay with a pen friend in the USA and persuade my friend's mum to paddle me the way she does her own kids.

Selecting my personal favorite is a difficult and challenging question. I have written hundreds of stories and regard them almost like my children. However, if I have to select one, it would most likely be Thursday Afternoon Discussion Group. I liked the premise and the interaction between the characters, and I liked the story because it features a group of older people showing that they are not too old to act on their memories and their fantasies, confirming my personal belief that one is never too old for a spanking.
