I've just found a story - on another site - about a railwayman's daughter who loves steam trains and, in the summer of 1968, creeps around one of the last British steam sheds at Carnforth, Lancashire - even sitting in a loco cab - and gets caught by the foreman with inevitable consequences at school. Rather miffed than I never thought of this, I'd have had to do zero research as I did the same thing in real life, though nobody cared much about trespassing teenagers at the time.

Gosh, that really is quite a coincidence. Perhaps you should write one featuring a male teenager. Obviously, you weren't too worried about the possibility of being caught. Wouldn't someone have thrashed you for it in the Swingin' Sixties?

I have written a couple of stories about preserved lines, one of which "Full Bottom Of Steam", is available here at the library.
