I won't read anything that involves children, nor am I overly fond of "period pieces". I enjoy reading traditional husband/wife, boyfriend/girlfriend discipline stories. I also enjoy stories involving maternal punishment of adult daughters.

I will stop reading if the spanking is too harsh. I like otk spankings with hand or paddle. Things like canes and heavy straps are a bit too much.

I stop reading for a number of reasons and these have to do with personal preferences. 1-If it turns out to be a "scene" story. I just don't find stories about people well into the spanking scene that fascinating. More often than not such stories have little drama and freqently mire down in mechanical descriptions of various punishments. 2-Stories that substitute onomatopoeia for description. 3-Stories that leave the realm of reality completely, like those that describe overly harsh or repetitive punishments. 4-Stories that treat spanking as if it were a casual event. This one is beginning to bug me more and more. I know I've been guilty myself, but a story about a spanking or a punishment should treat it as special and not ordinary. Otherwise how are you going to build up a sense of drama? If little Suzy gets spanked every day for every little thing, how is that interesting?

Punishment should be a very special event, that doesn't take place with a great degree of frequency. It should be very realistic and definitely not brutel. When I use to write, my stories were realistic, ritualized, with, at times, terrible anticipation. My stores were all types of genre. Generally, my favorite were F/M, M/F. Also, with young teens, and preteens. No children. Not because I was against this type of genre, but because it did not fit with my type of writing. The small child does not understand the ritual or psychological anticipation. Most of my stories were with the hand, strap, hairbrush and ruler. All stories were OTK and bare bottom (of course). The terrible anticipation alone, could be a story, in itself, without the spanking. I am not very interested in writing about canes, but I do read them. In the USA, canes were not very popular in schools, but the strap was used in my grammer school and high school. It was used with some frequency. Most students didn't know about it, since all punishment was done in private, without an announcement to all, in the class. In the USA, about 20 states still allow CP and, at times, there are no restrictions in its use, especially in private religious schools.

1. the story must be strictly M/F. no children (even not recalling), no teenies, no F/M, no F/F, and only two persons involved in the spanking. call me a puritan
2. the plot must be believable. Per example, a policeman who gives the culprit the choice between a ticket and a spanking is an annoyance for me.
3. no exaggerated ( unnecessary ) violence.
4. the language must be decent.
5. more descriptive than "slap" slap" "slap"
6. there must be love or at least deep sympathy between the couple.

then it's a story I will read to the end and feel good entertained
ruegirl (Recovery, Blushing Bride) and Maeve ( Sign Language) are in my favs

turn offs oh yes so many. any spanking given without feeling. u don't have to be in love but a ment hug after all is over is good. most school, judicial, babysitter ect. have a tendency to put me off. i guess coldness in a story is one of my biggest turnoffs which usully leads to the more brutal ones that i can't stand.
spankings given in anger also, i like the one where the spanker atemps to cool down this is where a lot of cornertime comes in handy.
fan fic i really like to don't like the ones where they totally change the personalities though. where they take a fun loving more likely to be in the thick of it with u. and make them be a brutal often disaplinairian.
i really enjoy the stories that have a nice balance of discription, mindset, and yes smack ouches.
i can't stand the ones that say (take this quietly).
don't really like counting ones either.
i only like multiple punishments ie this is the 3rd time uv gotten caught doing this. some over kill it.
otk is my fav. position. hand, brush ect impliments.
thank u 4 reading this.

Also any that are too playful or the spanking is too light. Like the spankee to at least be somewhat reluctant to be spanked and a little concerned about what is going to happen.
