When I was in elementary school, the teacher had a selection of books for students to read. Among them was this book where cousins (a boy and a girl) visited their grandparents on a farm to compete in a contest where the winner would receive some kind of magical sword. The boy does something wrong and the grandfather asks him for help with something. He requests the kid put his head in this thing to look at something and the next thing the boy knows he's being paddled by a machine.
I never got the chance to finish the book. I don't know the title and I've been searching for years. I was reading the spanking machine part when the teacher yanked the book away and threw it on the ground. At the time I had been reading it behind the covers of another book we we're supposed to be reading but, being an avid reader, I had read that particular story several times and was tired of retreading the same material. Frankly, I'd rather have been spanked than having that wonderful book being mistreated. In any case, I'd love to finish it but I can't remember the title, let alone the author; so if anyone remembers. Please let me know. Thanks. |
