Thanks to all validators. No stale donuts (doughnuts?) amongst you.

It has been a while since we've acknowledged an unsung group of people here at the Library - our dedicated crew of story validators, without whom we wouldn't have details about the literature here on this site to help us chose what to read according to our own individual tastes.

Yes, I know know they receive high wages (in the form of donuts, stale or otherwise, and/or crisps), and are chained to their desks so that they really don't have many options to do much else (a policy long ago implemented by Library Management), but it is still proper, periodically, to recognize them for their contributions.

Although there have been many people who have fulfilled this role over the years, I especially want to thank our current team of validators as they peck away at their keyboards in the Library dunge... er... validation office. Here's to you, Dave, Elorac and Sammi11205, for a job well done!

I must say it's been a lot of fun to see what kind of synopsis the validators come up with!
It took me longer than I care to admit before I noticed the synopses were there but they've been very helpful since.

Question though, are authors notified when validators edit things in their story? I haven't received anything regarding that, so I guess either nothing was edited, or I just haven't noticed?

Diana-
It would be far too time intensive to notify each author of the changes validators make to each story. Edits are primarily for spelling and grammar, and on occasion, clarity. Just know that they work hard to make each submission look its best!

I know recently Elorac caught a stupid mistake I made in a series that has recently been posted on the site. She asked how I intended for it to read, and made the corrections for me. Many thanks to her and all the other validators. They read everything we send in, and I know in my case, it may be some tedious reading at times.

Many thanks to these unsung heroes of the Library.

If you go to Submissions and scroll down, you can click the header for Latest Validations, where you'll be able to see what has been validated and by whom, plus the synopsis. Alternatively, if you go to your author page and look at the list of items, if there's a tick in the right hand column it means that particular item has been validated. You can hover your mouse over the tick to see who has validated your story, then if you wish you can hover your mouse over the 2nd column on the left of your screen to see the text of the synopsis.

There's a lot more info available on various features etc, which you can access if you click on Info, then scroll down to Help. Or Info, then scroll down to About/Procedures

Thanks Flopsybunny, I know this (took a while before I managed to open the synopses on my phone without involuntarily adding things to my reading list, but I can do that too now, yay!) What I meant was I was curious if there would for example be a pop-up to let you know some content has been edited. Not that I specifically need for this to happen, I was just curious. It says in the guide the edits would be minor things anyway, so I might not even notice the difference in my own stories ;)

The validations deserve our thanks. Without them our stories would lack a little something that elevates them.

Yep, I know a number of mine would lack proper grammar and punctuation. I'm a terrible proof reader of my own work.
