For those wondering what happened to the site earlier this week, we were subject to a DDOS attack which led to us being taken offline by our host. We are back online again now and increasing the load on the server in a gradual fashion. Right now, logins are being accepted for authors and frequent commenters but hopefully the site will be fully live in a couple of days.

Your dedication and efforts are appreciated more than you could guess, Febris.
Please remember one thing though.. your health. I see your post was at 'darko'clock' (ironic squaddie talk for the middle of the night!). If you burn yourself out struggling to keep this fantastic site operational everyone here will be rather upset with you! And upset spanko's tend to.. ummm.. spank!
Be careful.. please.

I too had noted that you were posting updates during the night Februs, as well as making phone calls across the water, which worried me, as I know how busy you were prior to this humongous problem. Flopsy will be worried and overworked too, no doubt, so, as much as we are desperate to be fully functional again, we value your health and sanity more!
Please take some time for yourselves to rest and recuperate.

Thanks to everyone who so tirelessly work to keep this site up and running. In the midst of a blizzard here in the states, don't know if will continue to have power so just wanted to check in. And,again, a big thanks !

Must be on the East Coast. Good luck with that...

Sounds as if the worst may be over. Let's hope so, although now that I've learned what a bunch of cruds EIG are I'll still have a tinge of apprehension each time I log in. But meanwhile many thanks to you both, Februs and Flopsy, for all the tireless work you do in maintaining this pearl among sites. You're the best!

Truly sorry to hear of the site issues, i wish to add my thanks to Februs and Flopsy for the stellar efforts you both put into maintaining this 'crème de la crème' of sites.

They say absence makes the hear grow fonder, well i for one missed the site hugely, and yes felt a sorrow to hear of the issues, one does get very protective of that which we hold dear.

Sorry to hear of the problems. Every time my e-mail gets hacked, I feel personally violated, perhaps because it seems these people do it to send stupid links in my name to some site selling something worthless.
Hope you get things straightened out without too much more strain. This site is a wonderful place for all of us.
