The club I'm speaking of is the exclusive society for authors who have garnered at least one thousand comments on their stories. As of today, Alef is the latest member. He is a marvelous author and well deserving of the honor. (He also happens to be one of my favorite commenters, but I digress). Congratulations, Alef, and keep those stories coming!

Welcome and thank you Alef. I have been the beneficiary of a few of those thousand comments and I appreciate every one (from you and from all). I think I speak for all of us when I say how nice it is to get comments on material that you have submitted to the library. I have not been on here terribly long but I envision myself in this club in the future because, in that I love getting comments, I make sure I comment on the stories that I read and enjoy figuring that other authors do as well.

Congrats to one of my favorite authors! Well deserved indeed, Alef. I always enjoy your writing, and your stories simply beg to be commented on because of the powerful emotions, insight and analysis they provoke. Thank you for sharing your talent with us!

Thank you, everybody! It feels like a milestone, but just as one of many along the road.

I'd like to take the opportunity to point out how important comments are. I started my "career" as spanking writer on a site without comment facilities, and I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have lasted long if I hadn't found other sites with comment possibilities. Comments are what makes this library a community and not only a collection of stories. I learn from the comments as an author, but also as a reader. I always turn to the comments when I have read a story in here, and often they point out something I have missed. Occasionally they will insist on something I deeply disagree with, but that is part of the learning experience. Commenting on stories is the easiest way to contribute to this wonderful site, and I hope more will realize how easy and important it is.
