There is frequent encouragement here at the LSF for members/readers to participate and show their appreciation to authors by leaving comments on stories they have read. There's no better way of doing this than to lead by example. One of our most esteemed members, canadianspankee, has made such examples a total of EIGHT THOUSAND times. Eight thousand!
Let's do a little math - cs joined the LSF on January 11, 2011. That's 1,593 days ago. That means that, on average, for 1,593 days, cs has posted 5 comments per day during his tenure as an LSF member. How many of the rest of us can say that we've posted 5 comments on any ONE day that we've been here? Simply amazing! True - if he'd just been just a little more diligent, he could have left 10,000 comments by no, but we can give him a pass on that one.
As an author myself, I'm always grateful for the feedback cs provides on my stories. (He's one of my leading commenters, but how many authors CAN'T say that?)
Oh, and did I mention that cs also contributes as an author, as a frequenter of the forum AND as the coiner of the official LSF slogan?
