This two part story of mine has been in the Library for a few days now, and has had some very appreciative comments.
It would appeal to those who like the dynamic of a strict, caring older woman taking a younger woman under her wing.
It also has a strong ‘coming of age’ theme, how people respond to setbacks, and the possibility of making a positive change.
There’s a twist I’m quite proud of, it is prefigured in the story, and is coherent with the characters annd their situatio. I’ve tried to make the atmosphere redolent of a stifling small town back in the seventies.
