A Vulnerability Vigilantly Averted

Finally filling in the letter 'V' in my project to write a story for each letter of the alphabet, this tale tells of Hyperlass - a teen-aged superheroine whose powers have a potentially fatal flaw. Fortunately, her mentor - the Violet Vigilante - is on hand to provide a solution!

I'm doing something along those lines. I just have to let a story age so I can proofread it with a clear mind and I'll have an X. Then I'll need a Q.

Congratulations! I've just got 'K' to go. I'm reminded of Donald Westlake's characters speculating about what would happen when Sue Grafton (A is for Alibi, B is for Burglar etc) reached Z.

They worked out possible titles for the next series of books, starting with 'AA is for a Twelve-Step Program' and going all the way to 'ZZ is for Topp'!

I miss Q and X as well. I had a story sent in on X where the title actually made sense for the story, but unfortunately it didn't make it into the loading queue. Q is difficult and I don't want to submit a story named "Quincy gets a spanking" as starting with a name feels a bit like cheating. I just wonder how it would get sorted if I submit a story named "

If you're looking for a Q, shouldn't your story be titled '?'...?

What an interesting challenge. I checked out how close I was was to achieving this target and to my surprise I discovered I was only four letters short. I have been struggling a bit recently for ideas, so maybe if I can think of suitable titles the stories may follow. Two bratty sisters fighting over a Xylophone perhaps?

Oh, I forgot to include a spanking...

There are stories about a girl's bottom can be played like the bongos. How about a number of bratty girls lined up, someone smacking their bottoms to play them like a xylophone?

It looks like I'm short 5 letters, the ever present Q, followed by V, X, Y and finally Z. I need to get busy and fill in some blanks.

I did come up with an idea for a 'Spankophone' - a sort of elongated pillory/spanking-bench in which a group of girls (maybe a girls choir?) could be secured, with a mechanism that delivered a paddle-swat to the girl whose bottom corresponded to the note on the keyboard. It even had a 'roller piano' feature, so you could set it to play a tune while you sat back and enjoyed the show.

Getting girls whose voices corresponded to the right notes could be difficult, as would getting them to be quiet between swats. A gagging mechanism that clapped a pad over their mouths when not getting paddled, might be the solution.

This thread is getting farther away from a plug for my story with each post - perhaps it's time to make it a thread of its own?
