Way back in early March of 2011, my story "Still a Mom" was published here and grew to have quite popular appeal garnering 'favorites' and prompting more than the usual smattering of comments. At the time I felt it was a complete story despite some readers' hopes for more. Then, three years later almost exactly, at the end of March 2014, "A New Old Mom" was published here. Intended as a stand-alone piece, but clearly following up on the characters from "Stilla Mom", it too seemed to resonate well with readers.
It is now nearly March once again, and though I have no idea why this storyline seems to be aligned with that month, I am here to say that I have a third story in its final stages that I will soon be sending in with Peter, Loretta, and gruff, old Carol all in attendance.
This one takes place between "Still a Mom" and "A New Old Mom", acting as a bridge between the two, yet still, hopefully functioning somewhat independently. I'm not a habitual series writer, nor do I wish to be for reasons I have often made clear. However, I do hope the new story, (when it lands) pleases fans of the previous pieces, even as it explores an aspect that had not been fully fleshed out before: does a spanker's enjoyment of their role render what they do less sincere, serious, or punitive?
